Chint Solar has started the next phase of construction of the Salteras solar park in Spain. The first solar module was symbolically placed by local stakeholders, together with representatives of Chint Solar, in a ceremony attended by various companies and entities collaborating in this project.
The Salteras projects cover an area of 230 hectares in the municipality of Salteras, in the province of Seville, and have a combined installed capacity of 130 megawatts. It is Chint Solar’s first photovoltaic project in Spain as a developer and EPC of solar parks. The solar park will cover the annual energy needs of more than 80,000 households. It is owned and will be operated by CEE Group, an asset manager based in Hamburg specializing in renewable energies. The project has been developed jointly with local company Tartessos Power Development.
The solar park highlights Chint Solar’s commitment to the European market, where more than 30 projects have already been successfully completed. With this PV plant, Chint Solar’s first in Spain, the company demonstrates its capacity for innovative and sustainable energy solutions.
In the planning of this solar park, special emphasis has been placed on the protection of the natural flora and fauna in the Aljarafe region of Seville. By integrating environmentally friendly design elements and minimizing land use, the impact on the local ecosystem is considerably reduced. In addition, measures are taken to promote biodiversity in the surrounding area and to create or preserve habitats for native animal species.
